My name is Carlyn and welcome to my photography page! I am so glad you are here and I am excited to share with you my portraits. My degree is in Broadcast Journalism and Marketing. For the past 9 years I have been working as a Director of Marketing for a lighting design company. For the past 10+ years I have worked as a freelance journalist for Palestra.net, Uwire The College Network (ESPNU) and Sacramento Midtown Magazine. I love telling stories and designing brands, and with photography I do just that. I started my photography business 4 years ago (as a hobby) and it quickly turned into something much more!
My style is bright, light and colorful! I paint my pictures in post production and design a portrait perfect for your memories. When my husband and I moved to the Inland Northwest 7 years ago, I noticed there was a need for this particular design style. I decided to make my portrait sessions affordable, without losing quality.
I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I went to college in Pennsylvania (played field hockey), and met my husband on a girls trip to Boise, ID. Fast forward to today, my husband and I have been married for 9 years and we have 3 beautiful children (2 boys and 1 girl). When I am not taking photos, I am probably yelling at my kids' sporting events or running after my 18 month old! I love Jesus, my family and friends!

It just depends on the lighting and style you prefer. If you love golden hues and a sunset glow, you should book 1-2 hours before sunset. If you prefer bright and light, you should book in the morning before 11:00am or afternoon after 4:00pm.
Absolutely! This is a big moment for the whole family and they are more than welcome to be in your portraits!
The best time to book a Newborn Session is 1-3 weeks after baby is born.
